Sorry for my disappearance last week - studying took over my life. I'm glad I only have two classes. It's just right most of the time. But, when things get crazy busy, I seem to be able to manage two things. The boys (the three of them) are always number one of those two and so that really only leaves room for one more thing - last week it was studying. And then we had a lovely weekend - great weather, a little outing to a nearby town where I dropped the boys off at the park (the plan was to drop them at a movie, but Peter and Ned didn't want to go - I'm not sure what that was all about) and I went thrifting, and we all enjoyed a delicious dinner at a great BBQ restaurant.
And I managed to finish my living room pillows! A true miracle indeed, since these have been in the works since January. I'm so glad that I took my time with these though - I'm very happy with how they turned out.
I was able to use one of my
favorite pieces of thrifted fabrics. I think this was the perfect use for it - something that is large enough to see the fabulous print and something that I will look at and enjoy every day. There's still a bit left of it - I may have to work it into the wall hanging I need to make.
I love the grey corduroy on the back of these - I found it at JoAnn when I started this project and I think it may have been a big part of why I actually got started on it. I've been thinking about making new pillows for about a year and a half - thinking about sliding my fingers across that soft corduroy was the motivation that I needed to get to it. And I made sure to make these covers easily removable - I didn't do that with my last set of pillows and regretted it everytime they started looking shabby. And now I might just have to sit on the couch with my pillows this afternoon and watch the snow fall (yes, it's a downright blizzard out there after such loveliness on Saturday) while I read a book.
They look so fab! I am curious about the flower on the cream colored pillow. Is that embroidered?

Oh, they look great! So colorful and cheerful! I need a pillow update, too. (I'm also curious about the flower - did you embroider that?)

All three and great ... each individual but they tie into each other. Good job.
