Those are some awesome books. My favorite Christmas books are "The Three Trees" and "Toot & Puddle: I'll Be Home For Christmas" by Holly Hobbie. They are both childrens' books, but what could be better at Christmas?

I can't wait to hear what your book group thinks about Pope Joan. When our group read it, David even read it and completely enjoyed it.
Sounds like a good list!

I am always ready to recommend good books.

HOTEL ON THE CORNER OF BITTER AND SWEET by Jamie Ford (came out this January and is now in paperback)

THE ELEGANCE OF THE HEDGEHOG by Muriel Barbery (I think this is an either love it or hate it book)

THE BEEKEEPER'S APPRENTICE by Laurie R. King (historical fiction and mystery--Sherlock Holmes after he retires)

PS--I've read THE HUNGER GAMES--powerful book. The sequel is out, but I hear it has a cliff-hanger ending, and I hate those, so I think I'll wait until the third book comes out and read them together.

I've also read MAISIE DOBBS and sequels. Very nice historical mysteries.

And I've read POPE JOAN, though it was quite a while ago. Very interesting book.

Read THREE CUPS OF TEA a few months ago. It is nonfiction, but it has as much suspense as some fiction I've read. Also very good.

I'm glad you still come!
